How do leverage and lots work on Vembit?
VembitOctober 18, 2026
Vembit gives you two ways to size a trade. Both use your one cash balance, and both use leverage, which multiplies your gains and your losses.
Leverage Mode: 1x to 500x
You choose how much margin to put in and a leverage multiplier from 1x to 500x. Position size = margin × leverage. With $10 of margin at 100x you control a $1,000 position, so a 1% move in your favour earns about $10 and a 1% move against you loses about $10. Crypto trades in this mode pay a 0.05% fee per side; see fees and spreads.
Lot Mode: MT4/MT5-Style Volume
You choose a volume in lots, in steps of 0.01. One lot is 1 BTC, 100 ounces of gold or 100,000 units of the base currency in forex. Lot orders use your account leverage of 1:500 automatically, so the margin each order needs is its value divided by 500. The order panel shows the margin, the value of a 0.01 move and the spread before you trade. See what a lot size is.
Cross Margin and Liquidation
Vembit uses cross margin: your whole cash balance backs every open trade. If your equity (cash plus open profit and loss) falls to zero, all your open positions close. The order panel shows an estimated liquidation price before you trade. Using a stop loss and a smaller size keeps you far from it.
Choosing Leverage
High leverage does not change the odds of a trade, it changes how fast your balance moves. At 500x a 0.2% move against you equals your whole margin on that trade. Many traders use far less than the maximum. Read what leverage is and position sizing before choosing.
